Looking Back at 2009...

Well, this year has been a lot of things. Things have changed for our country, we have a new president, new laws have been passed, and our economy has been continuing it's downward spiral. But in spite of all of this, Jesus is still Lord of all, including the president, our leaders and our economy.

Daniel 2:21 And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding.

In light of this verse, we should all choose wisdom, knowledge & understanding, where do we find these virtues? The answer is God's Word, we should be studying God's Words in 2010. This new year will hopefully be a time of spiritual refreshment, with prayer, fellowship and reading God's Words. We can be renewed in the spirit. May God give you a wonderful new year and may He guide you through every part of your life.

God bless,
Abigail Prudence

Proverbs 31 Day happened!

Hello everyone, Proverbs 31 Day was on the 5th of this month, sorry it took so long to post, I wanted to post this after I got the pictures in. Go Walgreen's! It was at Mrs. Swanson's house, all the girl's came with the things they made and we all read Proverbs 31 together and then got our tables ready. People started coming at about 8:30am, but we had all been there for about an hour before, it was very chilly! We were all wrapped in our heavy blankets and coats, it was actually warmer outside than it was inside. This was the most successful Proverbs 31 Day that the church has ever had! Collectively all 12 girls including myself had made $1,600! It was pretty much an all day event, it was a lot of fun talking with the other girls from my church. I hope you enjoy the pictures, there aren't very many but I hope you like them.

This is me wrapping up the soaps to sell,

This my beloved father that has taught me so much. From the looks of this picture he needs some coffee!

Well I hope you enjoyed the pictures, it was a lot of fun for me. I hope I will be going back next year with an even bigger selection of soaps. There is a generation of young girls out there that are truly seeking to train and eventually become a virtuous wife and mother under the training of their parents and the Bible. The Proverb written to King Lemuel from his mother, has been and will forever be a wonderful guide to parents, young women, and even suitors that are seeking answers about what a Godly young woman should look like. Proverbs 31 is also a great guide for young men to read. If you read Proverbs 31:1-9 it is written to a young king with instructions from his mother on how a young Godly king would act. Below is Proverbs 31 in the King James Version, I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I do. God bless you all.

Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies.
The heart of her husband doth safely trust in her, so that he shall have no need of spoil.
She will do him good and not evil all the days of her life.
She seeketh wool, and flax, and worketh willingly with her hands.
She is like the merchants’ ships; she bringeth her food from afar.
She riseth also while it is yet night, and giveth meat to her household, and a portion to her maidens.
She considereth a field, and buyeth it: with the fruit of her hands she planteth a vineyard.
She girdeth her loins with strength, and strengtheneth her arms.
She perceiveth that her merchandise is good: her candle goeth not out by night.
She layeth her hands to the spindle, and her hands hold the distaff.
She stretcheth out her hand to the poor; yea, she reacheth forth her hands to the needy.
She is not afraid of the snow for her household: for all her household are clothed with scarlet.
She maketh herself coverings of tapestry; her clothing is silk and purple.
Her husband is known in the gates, when he sitteth among the elders of the land.
She maketh fine linen, and selleth it; and delivereth girdles unto the merchant.
Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come.
She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness.
She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
Many daughters have done virtuously, but thou excellest them all.
Favour is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman that feareth the LORD, she shall be praised.
Give her of the fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.
(Proverbs 31:10-31)

God Bless Texas,
Abigail
