Thanksgiving Verses

Hello everyone, I hope you all had a good time with your family and friend's this Thanksgiving! I had a great thanksgiving with my family, the weather is starting to get colder and you start to get the feeling that winter is just around the corner! But today I just wanted to post a few scriptures about being thankful. We can pray about all of the things we are thankful for, but reading about it is good too, so here are some versus that I have picked out, I pray you all have a great rest of the weekend.

Colossians 3:15 And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.

Psalms 100:4 Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name.

Psalms 107:1 O give thanks unto the LORD, for he is good: for his mercy endureth for ever.

Hi!, I'm Andrea, from Chile, and i don't quite understand that thanksgiving day, I only know it's in America, and it's christian, and being christian myself I would like to understand it, because I thought it was because some brothers from Europe arrived safely to America, and they were starving but God fed them, and also I read that they gave thanks to the Lord from saving them from catholics inquisition, but I'm not sure, could you please explain it to me?
